Building For Eternity

Why we needed to build in 2008
One of the core values of Martensville Baptist Church is people growing to know Jesus. Our facilities are a tool to help us accomplish the task of meeting people wherever they are on their spiritual journey and helping them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. In early spring on 2007, our Leadership Team made the decision to go ahead with a plan to add on the our current building. It was too small in several areas that are needed to better connect with people: auditorium, lobby, fellowship, nursery, children’s education and youth. Though it feels great to have a full house, we also know that people are drawn to places where they feel there is room to grow.
The Giving Campaign
In the Fall of 2007, a Giving Campaign became the focus of our Fall programs and Sunday mornings. Pastor Harv taught a series of sermons on – Building a Life Worth Living – covering these topics:
- Preparing for a Miracle
- Building a Life of Faith
- Building a Life of Service
- Building a Life of Purpose
- Building a Life of Commitment
- Building a Life of Sacrifice
- Building a Life of Thankfulness.
The final Celebration Sunday was held on October 21 at the Northridge Community Centre in Martensville. We collected the gifts and 3 year pledges from everyone and then celebrated by thanking God for all His provision. At the end of the service the total was announced: $370,000. Praise God!
Spring 2008 the process began with the grand opening in October 2008.
