Building For Eternity

A Celebration Sunday on October 31, 2010 marked the end of the 3 year Building for Eternity Giving Campaign.  Thank you to all who contributed and praise God for the results.

Why we needed to build in 2008

Martensville Baptist 2006

One of the core values of Martensville Baptist Church is people growing to know Jesus. Our facilities are a tool to help us accomplish the task of meeting people wherever they are on their spiritual journey and helping them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. In early spring on 2007, our Leadership Team made the decision to go ahead with a plan to add on the our current building.  It was too small in several areas that are needed to better connect with people: auditorium, lobby, fellowship, nursery, children’s education and youth. Though it feels great to have a full house, we also know that people are drawn to places where they feel there is room to grow.

 The Giving Campaign

In the Fall of 2007, a Giving Campaign became the focus of our Fall programs and Sunday mornings. Pastor Harv taught a series of sermons on – Building a Life Worth Living – covering these topics:

  • Preparing for a Miracle
  • Building a Life of Faith
  • Building a Life of Service
  • Building a Life of Purpose
  • Building a Life of Commitment
  • Building a Life of Sacrifice
  • Building a Life of Thankfulness.

The final Celebration Sunday was held on October 21 at the Northridge Community Centre in Martensville. We collected the gifts and 3 year pledges from everyone and then celebrated by thanking God for all His provision. At the end of the service the total was announced: $370,000. Praise God!

Spring 2008 the process began with the grand opening in October 2008.

Three years later…

In Fall 2007, at a Building for Eternity Campaign Celebration Kick-off, our congregation pledged to give $270,000 over 3 years.   Fall 2010 marked the end of that 3 year campaign.   More than was pledged on that day has been donated and we praise God for all He has done.  The stories of God’s provision throughout the project continue in the life of Martensville Baptist.   God is so faithful!   The facility is so amazing!  We are so blessed with this new facility and the church calendar reflects that.   The church is a hopping place both on Sundays and during the week.  Some evenings, we have to carefully juggle all this new space to fit in all the groups who need it!   The plan was to use the facility in every way possible to help people come to know Jesus and become fully devoted followers.  How exciting to be a part of this plan in action! We give all the glory to God!
