Purpose-Driven ~ Yes we are

A church culture takes a long to time to build. I’ve been thinking about our church culture lately and wondering how we would describe it to someone. Purpose Driven comes to mind. It’s not uncommon to hear the question, “What’s your purpose?” in planning every event or, “How are you accomplishing our purpose?” for every ministry that happens here. Do we get tired of it? NO!!! Because we see God working in and through the lives of people who need purpose and direction as they seek to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. We are all on a journey. Each person’s path is unique. One may find their way to God in a senior’s home sitting quietly with a lonely person. Another finds God in a leadership role of a huge event. Each one finds their purpose and significance as they yield their will and their ways to God. What is your purpose? How is God preparing you to find His way? Will you follow?

Looking for a Church to call home?

There are many good churches in our area and we don’t claim to be the best!  We know that each church has it’s own character and personality.  We all have our quirks and our perks.  When you are looking for a church that is right for you, you may be looking for those quirks and perks, and asking yourself the question:  Can I live with this and can I live without that?   However, there is something more important than the personality of a church and what it offers.  That is, the church’s foundation.  The Bible talks about this foundation in Luke 6, in the story comparing the man who chooses to build a house on the rock and the man who builds on the sand.  Jesus is that Rock.  At MBC, we believe this so strongly that we have developed a Mission Statement and a Vision Statement to keep us focused on building on this Rock.  The sermons and studies all reflect the teachings of Jesus and the Word of God (the Bible).  We believe this is vitally important both in the church and in our individual lives so we strive to become more like Jesus in everything we do.

Please give us a try as you seek for fulfillment and purpose in your life.    Come join us on a Sunday morning:  coffee is served at 9:30 and service starts at 10.

Thank you to all who donated to our Christmas Hampers.

Enough food was collected to deliver 4 large hampers the week before Christmas.   All recipients were pleasantly surprised and very grateful.    We also collected $64 in Turkey Bucks, enough to buy each hamper a turkey!  Other cash donated was used to fill the hampers with fresh produce and our local grocery store manager chipped in to help top them up by giving us a 15% discount.  Thanks Dwayne!

It was God’s idea!” claims Lorraine, the leader of the Afternoon Women’s Study Group here at MBC. This afternoon they were busy filling plates with fancy home-baked cookies and wrapping them up in delightful Christmas wrap with a card saying Merry Christmas from MBC. These tasty gifts were then delivered to businesses in Martensville. What a great group of ladies who love God so much they just want to show love and appreciation for their town. Thank you ladies!

Cafe 77

Come have your morning coffee with friends!

Cafe 77 is our delightful coffee bar in the lobby of MBC where each Sunday morning we serve fair trade coffee or teas and delicious (usually homemade) snacks beside the comfy couches and the fireplace.  Everyone enjoys a good cup of coffee or tea to help wake up especially when it’s accompanied by a friendly chat with new and old friends.   This complimentary service is offered on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m., a half hour before the morning service.

Cafe 77 is a great place to build relationships and make new friends… see you there!
